Analog Video Preview

Check out this little teaser from Analog clothing for their video that is now currently in production.

Good looking shit as always from the mind of our Hawaiian homie Mark Oblow, who serves as not only the Creative Director for Analog, but for the IV Skate division of Gravis Shoes as well.

Mark's definitely one of the good guys out there in skateboarding.
He's always represented Hawaii to the fullest ever since he split to Cali in the early '90s.

His projects are always dope, and usually whatever he's been a part of creatively has been extremely successful.
The dude has been associated with stuff like Color, Prime, and Vita, just to name a few and has worked in the skateboard industry for many years in many capacities and never forgot where he came from.

Here's Mobs chillin' with the Blazer at a recent Gravis demo at A'ala Park.

Gotta say mahalo and big ups to Mark because my man is (and always has been) quick to hook up the local braddahs with all kinds of sick gear, and not only that, he still shreds all terrains like a madman to this day!

For example, Smith grinds at Cholo's going Mach10 are warm-up tricks for Marky Mark.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what develops with this Analog video, they have a sick team and Greg Hunt is producing and directing, so if it's anything even close to his work in the Alien video, this will be something you won't want to miss.

Don't Let The Door Hit Your Ass On The Way Out!

This past Sunday was Rob Carlyon's last day working at APB.
Good!
Fucking beat it, then, kook!

JUST JOKING.
That wouldn't be a very nice thing to say.
I kid, I kid.
But Rob himself is a fucking prankster that jokes around way more than me, and he is going to be working full-time with a bunch of other pranksters over at Al's Tinting in Aiea.

We all met up down at the shop to send him off in style, and when I say in style I mean with fried chicken and Dr. Pepper.

No, no, that's not all.
There was plenty of food and beer and it was pretty fun.
Look.
Photos courtesy of Jef Hartsel.
Big up!

Rob don't work here anymore!

Fancy decorations for the big party.

Salt Lake O.G. ripper Jeff Mills came through to wish his old skate buddy Rob well.

We took over the courtyard out back at tore it up.

Of course some of these shenanigans went down.

The bossman came through with roast pork and also ROAST DUCK! The duck was a even more succulent than I had a hoped!

Couple dudes rigged up the shottys.

D. Lee prepped one.

But the Colonel went straight savage on that shit...

...and expertly took it to the face!

No shotguns for us, but me and Noodles took turns pounding Doc Peezys! Killed a twelver.

Gettin' saucy up in that piece.

I don't know which one was more lit up, Kenny or the board?

Colonel kickflipped on it.

Hartsel rocked it with slippers.

Bumbaclot!

Shotgun king/Jabberjaw.

Rob's been at the shop since it opened in 2002.
Dude's always held it down over there and he will be missed.
It's the end of an era at APB, no shit.
ALOHA, ROBIN!

Soundboarding Hawaiian Vibe Video- Day 2

Super stoked to see that my man Junji is coming through with good shit as usual, here's his latest edit, it's the first part of the second day of he and Takashi's Hawaiian adventure.

We started the day off with a most sensible breakfast.

Dug in the crates for some old A'ala Park coverage I had in Skateboarder back in the day.

Takashi hyped on Bubbie's Ice Cream, Hawaii's finest.

Took the boys to In4mation headquarters, Todd just loves doing this kind of P.R. work.

Darin had to show our Japanese visitors just how famous Jun Jo is in their own country.

Takashi and Junji were stoked to receive the gift of a couple of boards courtesy of the In4mants.

Meanwhile, downstairs, the naked family puzzled the general public with their general creepiness.

Over to the Rat Cage in Makiki, I demonstrated a back rip for my tomodachi.

Hartsel tailblocks on whatever the fuck he likes.

Former Hi-Roller Noodles is a Makiki park local and blunts to fakie are scary.

Darin Lee spins some kind of alley oop melon while his phone rings and rings and rings and rings...

Takashi flipped out of a nosegrind just for laughs.

Hartsel was repping the Soundboarding movement in Hawaii!

Hell yeah, and there's a lot more Hawaiian highlights coming from my man really really soon.
Check back here or have a look at Junji's blog on the Soundboarding website.

Secret Sunday

Yesterday myself and three associates were abducted into a van and blindfolded.
We were then injected with some type of hallucinogenic to disorient and confuse us.

The van drove around for what seemed like hours as a mysterious and shadowy figure explained some parameters of a secret mission we were about to tackle.

The voice said:
"You are not to speak of this place. When you get there, no hooting, yelling, or even talking. If the police come, we do not know you. Leave immediately in the opposite direction. If you are caught, we will disavow any knowledge of you and you are completely on your own. We never met. If you return to this place without being accompanied by one of us, you will be hunted down and exterminated, no questions asked. Take nothing but pictures and video, leave nothing but footprints. Or something like that..."

I'm risking four lives by even sharing this but sometimes you gotta skirt the edge and say what the fuck.

Don't ask, I couldn't tell you where it is even if I wanted to, which I don't.

Soundboarding Hawaiian Vibe Video- Day 1

My boys Junji and Takashi from Osaka were here in Hawaii last month for about a week, and now Junji has put together a couple of videos documenting the first day of their trip.

Takashi was stoked to be leaving Japan to go on his first trip to Hawaii.

The braddahs couldn't wait!

I swooped them up at customs and then it was on.

Straight to shredding, Takashi shakes off the cobwebs of jetlag at A'ala Park.

Matt flipped into something, switch, no big deal.

On the raw and gritty streets, Danny stretched out a leg cramp.

Brian posed for a postcard moment down by the beach...bwoyyyyyy!

Kenneth boned up on some '80s type shit.

Timmy and his hair were working on some shit back at the park.

Kento committed some serious flippery for his Japanese brethren.

It was fun, fun, and more fun every single day that those two were here.
Junji always captures the essence of a good time in all of his videos and these are no exception.

Keep checking Junji's blog over at soundboarding.net because he'll be posting the rest of his trip videos very soon.

Mecha tanoshimi ya!

APB/Treevisions Teaser

Here is a little something that Conor McGivern from Treevisions put together right before he left for a little summer vacation.

Conor is currently taking a break from working at APB by visiting Japan for a month or so and he edited this right before he left.

Killer montage type shit from APB team riders Danny Hamaguchi, Matt Chaffin, Tim Jackson, Darin Lee, John Oliveira, and Conor himself. The Skate Nazi even snuck a trick up in that bitch, quick like. That's how I do.

Anyway, this is really good shit and Conor always comes correct!

First Try Fridays With Rip

Holy shit, my tomodachi Rip is killing the game right about now, coverage-wise!
He's all over the place this week, and today I was blown away to see Rip-san featured on The Berrics website as the subject of a First Try Friday.

Title's all official.

Rip rolled up in somebody's ride. It may or may not be legal for him to drive in this country.

Koston's like "You got this Madonna?"

Rip's like "Fuck yeah! Jetlag shit!"

High five, bitch! Too easy.

I think I heard Koston saying something about Rip being the referee in the Battle At The Berrics matchup between Rick Howard and Corey Duffel, I really hope that's true because it will be fucking comedy central for sure, and I can't wait to see Rick Howard slay Corey Duffel in a game of flatground SKATE.
Looking forward to it!
