Tech Decks at Target

Roaming through the aisles of Target recently I happened to find myself in the vicinity of the toys.
I was looking at some other bullshit in the electronic department and I was curious to see if they had Tech Decks since I had seen some pretty crazy ones before at similar stores like Wal-Mart.

Well, when I went over to the shelves that stocked the Tech Deck paraphernalia I was quite surprised to see that they had not only a large selection, they had a fucking gigantic surplus of shit.

Here's basically the layout.

Trippy to see a Krooked Gonz model up in the mix.

Also very surprising to have on hand was this one from Traffic.

I'm just blown away that I can buy a Traffic board in Target but not at any skate shop on the island.

Found it quite strange and rad at the same time that there was a Hopps board up in there as well.

Insane.
I knew that Tech Deck made fingerboards with brands like Blind, Almost, Darkstar, shit, I have even seen Girl and Chocolate plus Alien and Habitat Tech Decks, but I was completely caught off guard when I saw the Traffic and Hopps models.
This is seriously good for these little companies, even if it is considered cheesy by some people.
These dudes are getting a decent amount of money for this, or at least I hope so, because not enough places carry small companies like Traffic and Hopps, so for those dudes to make cash off of this kind of thing is absolutely alright with me.

But that wasn't all.
They had not only Tech Decks to get your fingerboard on with, they had shit for you to ride those things on as well.
There was a perfect replica of the original bowl at the old Del Mar skatepark.

Me and Chad actually bought one of these for Jef Hartsel last year for his birthday, dude was stoked on it.

Now this next one wasn't actually in stock but I did find it on the tech Deck website, it's a replica of the Hollywood High 16 stair rail.

However, my favorite of the day was the Cheese and Crackers mini ramp, complete with Cheese and Crackers DVD.

It was crazy because I was just re-watching Cheese and Crackers a few days before I saw this and it is still fucking incredible.
I hope Daewon and Haslam got a raise for that shit because nobody is fucking with those two on a mini.

Toys are gnarly.

Troy Boy Holiday Montage

I been on a Vimeo blast mission as of late but Troy Boy Pintarelli has been steady dropping clips for a while now.
His latest is a recently filmed mish-mash of shredding that features a hodgepodge of local cats and our latest adopted Hawaiian son from L.A., David Bowens.

Nicely done as usual, keep it coming and don't forget to always shred the aloha.

Thrasher/CONS Prevent This Tragedy DVD

DAMN!
If you haven't seen this video yet, you need to.

The newest issue of Thrasher comes with this DVD that features full parts from Sammy Baca, Devin Appelo, David Gravette, Andrew Allen, Emmanuel Guzman, and Nick Trapasso. Raymond Molinar and Ethan Fowler share a part.

Also there are a couple of montages, one of which features two tricks from local oi oi boy Dyson Ramones.

This video is in heavy rotation right now, I'm rewinding mostly Andrew Allen's and Eman's part but also the shared part of Raymond Molinar and Ethan Fowler is getting a lot of repeat viewings on my telly.

Also, in light of what happened recently at the Agenda show in San Diego it's kind of funny now to watch Nick Trapasso's ender part, which is really good by the way, without imagining him getting the shit slapped out of him.
He seems like such a mellow little stoner, it's hard to picture him acting like such a jackass in public that somebody had to straighten him out by roughing him up a bit.

Anyway, if you haven't seen this video go get the new issue of Thrasher, best four bucks you will spend this month, trust me.

APB On The Berrics

Seeing as Chad from APB threw down some serious coin for joining the Berrics Unified program, it was only right that The Berrics flew him and all of the other shop owners that paid to be a part of it out to Huntington Beach for the Agenda trade show.

Check out how stoked he is to be there!

Also, check out those shop banners!
That's what is called like unique targeted trafficking or some shit, I don't know for sure but I'm gonna go ahead and say that it was probably worth it to have those banners show up every single time someone from Hawaii goes on The Berrics website, because that is what happens, try that shit if you don't believe me.

Check out the shop's little profile too while you're at it.
Dude definitely worked hard writing that shit, no doubt still traumatized by the fact that I am not there to craft literary masterpieces for him anymore.

Nice photos of the sales team too.
Speaking of his workers, I can imagine Noil holding it down at the shop right now taking multiple shirtless pictures of himself.
Meanwhile, John is walking around the Agenda show Facebooking on his phone and muttering barely audible put-downs and interesting low decibel commentary on anything and everything, all of which I'd love to be there and have a difficult time hearing.

Los Angeles 2009 Video

Finally got around to putting up the L.A. montage that was a result of last year's January trip to SoCal.

Big ups to everybody for blowing the Skate Nazi Vimeo shit up via blogs, tweets, (I can't believe I just wrote "tweets" with a straight face) Facebook, (still ain't on that shit) email, and good old-fashioned word of mouth.

More coming soon.

Mako In Osaka

Super psyched to see that Makoto was able to hook up with our homies Junji and Takashi in Osaka over the holidays.

Saw these pictures and more over on Junji's Soundboarding blog.

Pretty sure Mako's pop is originally from Osaka, good to see my man getting on some roots shit over there!

Also, keeping it Japaneezy still, just saw that the RUA Magazine peeps threw me up on the linkage over on their website.

Domo arigatou for that and WHAT UP TO ALL MY NIHONJINS!
See you in about one month, get ready for some shredding and pillaging.

Not only that, keep checking the Skate Nazi Vimeo page because there are two montages from my Japanese adventures of 2009, one from Osaka and one from Tokyo, and they'll be uploaded soon, right after the Los Angeles 2009 montage goes up in a few days.

Skate Nazi on Vimeo

Been throwing up a few new videos on the Skate Nazi Vimeo page in the past couple of weeks, there's an A'ala Park montage that is so long and drawn-out (that's what she said) it is likely to result in narcolepsy, and also a golf course memorial clip that will likely bring a tear to the eye of anyone who had the pleasure of sessioning it during its tiny window of shredding existence.

Also please feast your eyes on this Travis Hancock victory lap as well as the half-skating, half-ocean shralping antics of Brian Wyland and friends in this deep, emotional Orgazmo tribute that is the early feel good (s)hit of 2010.

Since I can't be bothered with the logistics and back breaking effort that comes with making a full-length video, this is where all that little digicam footage that I have shot in the past year or two is going in case anyone (read: nobody) gives a shit.

When the official Skate Nazi website finally goes live (it is happening, sometime) this will be the standard video page but I'm pacing myself so don't hold your breath.

Mako Ozaki on RUA MAGAZINE JAPAN blog

Definitely in Japan state of mind these days, as I tend to find myself most of the time.
I'll be heading back there next month once again, but someone from Hawaii is busy representing over there right now:

Photographer/shredder/all-around nice guy Mako Ozaki is still steady making the rounds, from private video screening the new Soundboarding DVD in Osaka with our boy Junji, to dropping off omiyage in Tokyo to our mainest man Masa, as well as getting to reconnect with his Sunflower homies.

Since I read Japanese at approximately a kindergarten level, I don't know exactly what they're talking about here, but I'm sure it has something to do with Makoto being a rad dude.

Also, RUA is an amazing, high-quality mag that features some of the best in Japanese skateboard photography, check it out if you are into that kind of thing.
