Bummed I have to work but there is going to be a premiere tonight for the new Almost video 5 Incher at Downbeat Diner at 9PM.
Get down there if you can and show support for local braddah Matt Chaffin who has a part in the video that we've all been waiting a long time to see.
Also if that wasn't enough reason for you, just look at the rest of the team, it's going to be mental.
Downbeat Diner is located at 42 North Hotel Street in downtown Honolulu next to Manifest and across the street from 39 Hotel.

Adrian Adrid for Superbrand
Recently posted the Try This Life video from Superbrand Clothing featuring goldilocks himself, Commonwealth Stacks am Adrian Adrid in full kill mode but now there is a print ad for us Hawaiians to get even more stoked on:

This full page advertisement is now running in the commemorative 100th issue of The Skateboard Mag, which is already a good reason to pick up this periodical at your local shop but Adrian's ad is basically chocolate haupia cake icing on top!

Take Me Back
"What we're gonna do right here is go back."
"How far you going back?"
"Way back."
Yesterday was a special Sunday for The Skate Nazi.
No, it wasn't because of the NBA playoffs or even because Game Of Thrones was on (wicked episode by the way, Tyrion Lannister went far beyond the call of duty and once again proved himself to be the most completely awesome television little person since Mickey from Seinfeld)
it was because I got to go skateboarding at an old spot that is extremely dear to my heart.
The Pearlridge canal is a ditch in Aiea is in between Phase One and Phase Two of the Pearlridge Shopping Center.
Yeah that's right, it's Phase One and Phase Two, I don't recognize that silly Uptown and Downtown nonsense, that shit just sounds stupid to me.
Anyway, this is the place where me and the homies growing up in Aiea back in the day would spend hours upon hours and days upon days and also the spot where I pretty much made my bones in skateboarding.
I do have to point out however that Gary Owens from the Royal Hawaiian Pool Service was skating at this place way before I ever set foot on a skateboard and should be recognized as one of if not theeee first person to shred the Pearlridge canal.
A lot of good times were had there, and a lot of old school shredders (like Alva rippers Jef Hartsel and Chris Cook) blessed the walls of the ditch over the years but the place has been dormant for a very long time, and for good reason.
It's rough as fuck now and there's a shitload of rocks, broken glass and all sorts of heinous debris all over that piece so nobody's really fucked with this place in ages.
In fact the most recent coverage the ditch has seen outside of an incredible Sean Reilly five-o grind to fakie last year was during Season One of the late great TV show Lost when Kate was running from the cops during one of those often confusing flashbacks.
Anyway, me and some of the homies were going to go to the Manana skatepark in Pearl City yesterday but it was raining pretty hard in that direction so I suggested that we go to a nice underground parking garage in the area that just so happens to be next to the canal at Pearlridge so we ended up there and it was an incredible experience.
Mahalo to Conor, Darin, George, Steven, Applenuts, Jarold and Shota for being there and getting to sample a super rad blast from the past with me.

Try This Life w/ Adrian Adrid
SUPERbrand is a clothing company I don't know all that much about but I do know that they have enough sense to sponsor a couple of rippers from Hawaii, the much recently discussed Ryan Spencer from Maui, and now it seems our good friend from the North Shore of Oahu Adrian Adrid is on board with them as well.
Check out this little clip featuring Adrian doing his thing in and around L.A.
Nice hair, braddah!
Stoked that this dude is making it happen on the big stage because he's one bad shredda and always reps Hawaii to the fullest.
CHEEE!

Ryan Spencer- Thrasher June Issue
Really, really nice issue of Thrasher out right now, in fact it's the issue that was previously mentioned that features Danny Way skating his brand new mega structure over on the Garden Isle of Kauai.
Of course its always super rad to see Hawaii on the cover of Thrasher, but this issue also has more local island flavor than that going for it.
Maui shredder Ryan Spencer is going bonkers right about now and he has been rewarded for his efforts by receiving not one, or even two, but THREE ads in this particular issue, and all three of them are big ol' two page color spreads.
Pretty fucking tight that a local braddah has three gigantic ads within 167 pages of each other, the Mokelife crew must be over the moon about this action, CHEEEEEEE!
Anyway, I scanned some stuff and took photos of others with my camera from this issue, sorry about the quality in advance.
Some shit is easier to scan than others and I am not even fluent in the ways of something as simple as joining two scans together in Photoshop or whatever so this is what you get.
D. Way on the cover backside flipping up the monstrous Euro gap at his massive Kauai property.
First off, Ryan has a lien to tail for Dekline Footwear on this incredible looking brick transiton spot.
Terrible scan, but you get the gist of it I trust.
How fucking sick does this spot look by the way?
Next up, big ass hurricane up and over the rail on this Hubba ledge for Foundation Skateboards.
I couldn't really scan the whole spread and get it good so I broke it down into two pics.
The other side of the coin, pretty funny that the little F monster is saying "No Haolies Brah!!"
Ryan should have explained to that haole Tod Swank that it's actually spelled "haole" not "haolie".
We get it though, and actually appreciate the effort very much.
Last but not least, kinked rail boardslide for Pig Wheels.
Pretty good, Ryan.
Prettayy...prettayyy good!
Meanwhile, over on Kauai, peep Danny's ludicrous 360 ollie.
Is that a Euro gap or a Princeville gap?
Now feast your eyes on this batshit crazy ollie in.
Loving the caption, Jake Phelps obviously is a haole that knows how to spell haole correctly.
Also, Waimea sized is a very solid comparison, look at the size of that fucking thing and think about
how gnar you have to be to even think of doing something of this nature on something so massive.
Alternate sequence view of the cover, big bombucha backside flip!!
All in all, a very worthwhile purchase I must say, so go out and scoop up the June issue of Thrasher if you get a chance, you won't be disappointed.
